Death From Above 1979 - The Physical World

Death From Above 1979 has returned after a 10 year hiatus to drop their second LP, “The Physical World”. DFA 1979 evolved their blistering dance-punk into a greater more cohesive force, creating instrumental breakdowns with the anger and the brilliance of the best punk bands. The band does a great job of creating a wall of sound for only consisting of two members, bassist and drummer. Songs such as “Trainwreck 1979” and “Government Trash” explode volcanically over fast paced disco drums and roaring bass lines. Unfortunately, DFA 1979 is at their best up-tempo. Their slower songs seem to drag. Overall, these mother truckers have proved that after 10 years, they can still bring the heat.
